{"id":11,"date":"2011-01-03T10:31:26","date_gmt":"2011-01-03T17:31:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eatknitlove.com\/?p=11"},"modified":"2011-01-03T10:31:26","modified_gmt":"2011-01-03T17:31:26","slug":"jingle-bells-jingle-bells","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eatknitlove.com\/?p=11","title":{"rendered":"Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I\u2019ve mentioned, one of the greatest parts about living in New Orleans is the food, and, one of the more fun events of the year is the holiday season at the Brennan\u2019s Family of Restaurants.\u00a0 During the month of December, the Brennan\u2019s restaurants give out jingle bells with ribbons embossed with the restaurant name during lunchtime.\u00a0 Each year, it\u2019s kind of an informal contest among my friends to see how many of the bells we can amass.\u00a0 There are ten Brennan\u2019s restaurants in the city, nine of which participate with bells.\u00a0 Anyhow, this year I decided to get all of them!<\/p>\n<p>To begin my tour de gluttony, C and I dined on December 1 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ralphsonthepark.com\/\">Ralph\u2019s on the Park<\/a>.\u00a0 The setting is beautiful with large windows overlooking the grand live oaks of City Park.\u00a0 The restaurant is light and airy and seems to be favorite among the \u201cladies who lunch\u201d in the city.\u00a0 In fact, there were only two men there who weren\u2019t actually working in the restaurant!<\/p>\n<p>For my lunch I decided to heed the advice of my server and I selected\u00a0 the oyster and artichoke soup as my starter.\u00a0 It was a tad saltier than I would normally like, but still very good.\u00a0 For my entr\u00e9e I opted for the panko crusted pan\u00e9ed veal and added some lump crabmeat on top of it.\u00a0 In hindsight, the crabmeat was an unnecessary addition since the veal was incredible and stood just fine on its own.\u00a0 In fact, I would venture to say that it is one of the finest veal dishes I have ever had, and I\u2019m a woman who enjoys my veal!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Oyster Artichoke Soup\" src=\"https:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_TTxFQP_WCFk\/TPe6waO6kXI\/AAAAAAAAAfw\/cTYnQ2hR_AY\/s320\/IMG_4946.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Panko Crusted Paneed Veal\" src=\"https:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_TTxFQP_WCFk\/TPe8IYLsiDI\/AAAAAAAAAf4\/zB8CgqsgFLw\/s320\/IMG_4947.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Surprisingly, by the end of the meal I was too full to even attempt to eat dessert, which is a very rare occurrence for me.\u00a0 I have a bit of a sweet tooth.\u00a0 But I will be revisiting the restaurant in the very near future (likely on a Sunday) and indulging myself with a piece of their chocolate mousse cheesecake!<\/p>\n<p>One bell down, nine to go!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"My Sweet Boy and his first bell!\" src=\"https:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_TTxFQP_WCFk\/TPe8j1i43MI\/AAAAAAAAAgA\/v5smG9--hRk\/s320\/IMG_4943.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Bell #1\" src=\"https:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_TTxFQP_WCFk\/TPe8kfIzFWI\/AAAAAAAAAgI\/mf2N9pMxMw0\/s320\/IMG_4944.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"320\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I\u2019ve mentioned, one of the greatest parts about living in New Orleans is the food, and, one of the more fun events of the year is the holiday season at the Brennan\u2019s Family of Restaurants.\u00a0 During the month of &hellip;
